DESCRIPTION:The Bristol Acro Weekend takes place twice a year\, welcoming professionals and hobbyists from across the UK. \nThe event combines the structure of a convention with the spirit of a large jam. There are two rounds of workshops each day\, usually with around 3-4 options to choose from in each slot. These events are multi-level and multi-interest: some people enjoy dabbling with acro as a fun way to connect with others\, others are professional artists and athletes. BOOK HERE\nJoin us in Bristol for THREE FULL DAYS of training\, coaching\, and exploration in partner and group acrobatics ✨ \nLearn from highly experienced coaches\, hailing from companies such as Gravity & Other Myths (Australia)\, Copenhagen Collective (Denmark)\, Many Hands (UK)\, Team England Cheer\, and the best of the European and American convention scene. \nChoose from over 30 workshops\, including: \n\nduo acrobatics: static and dynamic skills\, hand to hand\, acrobalance\, techniques for different sizes and shapes.\ngroup acrobatics: banquine\, towers\, swinging\, toss\, and cheerleading stunts.\nadagio\, sequencing\, and dance acro.\n\nTeaching line up:\nChris Carlos (AUS)\nRachel Locks (AUS)\nSaila (FIN)\nMatt Berno (CAN)\nMeital (ISR)\nGina & Steve (USA)\nScott & Michaela (UK)\nJonny Crane (UK)\nMatt Greeny (UK)\nTasha Rushbrooke (UK)\nEthan Leamon (UK)\nMychael James-Dixon (UK) \nVenue\nThe convention will take place at Chellaram Sports Complex\, a brand new sports hall with a fully matted floor\, multiple lunge lines\, natural lighting\, and a bonus bouldering wall. \nThere is free parking on site\, as well as showers and changing rooms. \nStructure\nYou can see last year’s schedule here. \nFriday: 9:30am – 8pm\nSaturday: 9:30am – 8pm\nSunday: 9:30am – 7pm \nEach day begins with a warm up\, followed by three workshop rounds spread throughout the day. Each workshop round has at least 3 options to choose from. There will also be individual coaching available. \nEligibility\nPlease read the following information carefully:\n1.The event doesn’t cater to complete beginners. To ensure that everyone gets the most from the workshops\, all attendees must be able to perform the following: \n\nSolo handstand against a wall for 30 seconds.\nStanding foot to hand with an unassisted entry and exit.\n\n2.We do our best to balance flyer/base ratios so that everyone can participate fully in duo workshops. DESCRIPTION:Registration is open!: https://forms.gle/hQBWdcYMYED52GTH6\n\nWe’re excited to welcome Tom Mörtl back to Bristol to offer a weekend training in partner acrobatics\, his only UK intensive this year!\n\nTom is a German professional circus artist and teacher who started training Dutch acrobatics\, upgraded it with Ukrainian technique\, refined his work under the tutelage of various experienced coaches and incorporated elements of dance and martial arts in his movement. Since graduating from the circus school ACAPA in Tilburg\, he has been performing in various festivals\, theatres\, operas\, circuses and dance shows amongst others. Participants will learn how to break down complex skills and work with dynamic energy. The workshops will be adjusted to the participants’ level and interests. So please don’t delay registering if you wish to come for the whole weekend!\n\n WHEN & WHERE\n****************\nFri 10th March | Jam from 18:30 | Unit 15\, BS2 0RA (10 min walk from the train station)\nSat 11th March | 11:00 – 19:00 | Angel’s Dance Academy\, BS13 7TW\nSun 12th March | 11:00 – 19:00 | City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre\, BS13 0RF\n\n WHO’S IT FOR?\n****************\nAnyone with some experience of partner acrobatics\, acroyoga\, dance lifts etc. It is recommended at a minimum to be familiar with positions such as star\, throne\, flag\, 2-high (basing or flying).
