DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the second edition of Yorkshire’s Acrobatics Convention!\n\nWe have a sports hall in the centre of Leeds for 3 days to play\, learn\, train and socialise!\nWe will be offering workshops in a range of standing acro and acro-yoga skills\, including l-base flows\, standing f2h & h2h tricks and fundamentals\, icarian\, handstands & more.\n\nTeachers: If you’re interested in teaching contact us now!\n\nLevel:Beginners – With the north being famously friendly\, we welcome you with open arms to come along and have a go! There will always be a workshop suitable for beginners / open level.\nIntermediates – All the fun\, challenges and variety for you. We will be offering options for standing and l-base\, every round and will be looking to teach you new and exciting skills\, as well as give you drills to work on at home to master your high level basics.\nAdvanced – You wont be sat around twiddling your thumbs. We are bringing some high level teachers that will up the difficulty for you and keep you on your toes (or hands\, feet whichever body part of you’re choosing)\, and if that doesn’t take your fancy\, there will be plenty of space to jam.\n\nSchedule: TBC\n\nAccommodation:There are plenty of AirB&Bs and hotels locally as Leeds is a nice big city.The venue is a 15 min walk from the Leeds Train station\, so you can travel in\, with easy connections from most major cities.\nFood:Tea\, coffee and light snacks will be supplied throughout the weekend in large quantities. Please bring your own mug.There is a Tesco Express 2 min walk away from the venue\, and a number of cafe’s nearby. The Edge is a Uni building and there is a uni cafe in the venue also.\n\nTransport:\nBy Train:Leeds Train station is a 15 min walk away from the venue\, so it’s nice and easy.\nYou can get a direct train to Leeds from London\, Bristol\, Manchester\, Glasgow and many more. We recommend you check for train strikes in advance of the event!\nIf you’re travelling by air\, the Leeds Bradford airport which is a 30 minute drive from the venue.Manchester airport is one hour drive from the venue or you can get a train directly to Leeds from there.\nBy Car:There is very limited parking at the venue which also comes with a cost. Each workshop round has at least 3 options to choose from. There will also be individual coaching available. \nEligibility\nPlease read the following information carefully:\n1.The event doesn’t cater to complete beginners. To ensure that everyone gets the most from the workshops\, all attendees must be able to perform the following: \n\nSolo handstand against a wall for 30 seconds.\nStanding foot to hand with an unassisted entry and exit.\n\n2.We do our best to balance flyer/base ratios so that everyone can participate fully in duo workshops. DESCRIPTION:The Bristol Acro Weekend takes place twice a year\, welcoming professionals and hobbyists from across the UK. \nThe event combines the structure of a convention with the spirit of a large jam. There are two rounds of workshops each day\, usually with around 3-4 options to choose from in each slot. The rest of the time is dedicated to free-training\, skills-share\, and play. \n🤸🏽WHO IS IT FOR?\nAnyone with an interest in acrobatics / circus / acroyoga. These events are multi-level and multi-interest: some people enjoy dabbling with acro as a fun way to connect with others\, others are professional artists and athletes. If you like acro and teamwork you’ll fit right in. \n📍LOCATION:\nSaturday 7th March 09:30-17:00 @ Predator Athletics\, Greenway Centre\, Southmead\, BS10 5PY \nSunday 8th March 09:30-18:00 @ City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre\, BS13 0RF \nWe hire the best-equipped venues we can. Plus the sauna & cold plunge for those who want to go all in!\nIt’s our AcroYoga London Day Festival. From morning to late evening\, an array of delightful activities to bring together our community that we so cherish!\nCome for the groovy tunes\, or perhaps the Acro.. Stay for the incredible vibe that we’ll create together!\n\nTHE WORKSHOPS\nConfirmed teachers are: Jaqui\, Kiran\, Mabel & Michal\, Joey\, Eugene & Anna\, Ammanda & Tim\, Kwame\, Ceri\, Jesse\, AcroJulio\, Erica..\nThere’ll be 4 rounds of workshops – at least 2 workshops per round (aiming for 3!) plus handstand practice and jam. Ese (vocals\, guitar) is backed by a pool of some of the UK’s best musicians. There will always be a workshop suitable for beginners / open level.\nIntermediates – All the fun\, challenges and variety for you. We will be offering options for standing and l-base\, every round and will be looking to teach you new and exciting skills\, as well as give you drills to work on at home to master your high level basics.\nAdvanced – You wont be sat around twiddling your thumbs. We are bringing some high level teachers that will up the difficulty for you and keep you on your toes (or hands\, feet whichever body part of you’re choosing)\, and if that doesn’t take your fancy\, there will be plenty of space to jam.\n\nSchedule:\nTBC\, but the timeline should be as below.\nFriday : Doors Open – 2PM1-2 Workshop rounds + jam time\nSaturday:Doors Open – 9:30AM4 rounds of workshops + jam time\nSunday:Doors Open – 9:30AM3 rounds of workshops + jam time\n\nAccommodation:There are plenty of AirB&Bs and hotels locally as Leeds is a nice big city.The venue is a 15 min walk from the Leeds Train station\, so you can travel in\, with easy connections from most major cities.\n\nFood:Tea\, coffee and light snacks will be supplied throughout the weekend in large quantities. Please bring your own mug.There is a Tesco Express 2 min walk away from the venue\, and a number of cafe’s nearby. The Edge is a Uni building and there is a uni cafe in the venue also.\n\nTransport:\nBy Train:Leeds Train station is a 15 min walk away from the venue\, so it’s nice and easy.\nYou can get a direct train to Leeds from London\, Bristol\, Manchester\, Glasgow and many more. We recommend you check for train strikes in advance of the event!\nIf you’re travelling by air\, the Leeds Bradford airport which is a 30 minute drive from the venue.Manchester airport is one hour drive from the venue or you can get a train directly to Leeds from there.\nBy Car:There is very limited parking at the venue which also comes with a cost. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Standing Acro Convention!\nCelebrating the ambition and creativity of all things partner and group acrobatics ✨\n“It’s everything I want from an acro event – great teachers and workshops\, safe and supportive environment and a real focus on community” (2025 Participant) \nHow does it work?\nThe event runs over three full days (9am – 9pm) from Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July. \nWe bring in the best teachers we know from around the world\, with intentionally diverse influences (circus\, gymnastics\, cheer\, dance)\, to inspire and offer techniques for different physicalities and skillsets. \nYou can improve your skills and/or explore new styles\, with a choice of workshop options including: \n\nduo acrobatics: static and dynamic skills\, hand to hand\, acrobalance\ngroup acrobatics: towers\, swinging\, toss\, banquine\, and group stunts\nadagio\, creative sequencing\, and dance acro\n\nPlus lots of extra opportunities to learn and connect outside of workshops: \n\nindividual coaching\nlunchtime banquine club\nlots of jam time\, including ability to use the longes\ngames\nFriday evening social\n\nThe aim is for everyone to have the chance to improve their skills\, have fun\, and be ambitious in a supportive and welcoming environment. \nYou can see last year’s schedule here to get an idea of what’s on offer. \nLevel\nThis event is for those with some experience. To ensure everyone can participate all attendees must be able to perform the following: \n\nStanding foot to hand with an unassisted entry and exit.\nSolo handstand against a wall for 30 seconds.\n\nWorkshops go up to advanced static and dynamic skills – one arms\, saltos\, dynamic 3-high variations etc. So there’s something for everyone\, whether you’re an enthusiastic hobbyist or professional acrobat. \nWho can attend?\nSolo\, duo\, or in a group – there’s no need to bring a partner. \nWe facilitate mixing and trust-building at the start of the event\, so that everyone can make some connections before diving into workshop options. \nWe also think intentionally about workshop placement based on the needs of solo attendees – if you look at last year’s schedule you’ll see there are always group acro options and workshops that don’t require prior calibration. \nFood:\nOnsite hot lunches (main + sides) are included as standard. We highly recommend this option so you can spend time training and socialising rather than finding food. There are no supermarkets or cafes nearby. \nDietaries are catered for (GF\, vg etc.) and you can write your needs on your booking. \nFacilities:\nThe shiny new sports hall is equipped with puzzle mats\, crash mats\, and 4 sets of lunge lines.\nGreen fields are right outside for a revitalising walk or breath of fresh air.\nShowers\, changing rooms\, and free parking onsite. \nAccommodation:\nUnfortunately we can’t provide accommodation.
